New Jersey sales of homes rose in August, reaching their highest level since August 2015.
New Jersey’s home sales climbed 2.3 per cent in August to $1.47 billion, the state Department of Business and Professional Regulation said.
The growth is attributed to a strong start to the year, with sales up 8.5 per cent from the same month last year.
Home sales rose 4.6 per cent across the state.
The state recorded its fourth straight month of sales gains, and is on track to surpass $3 billion in sales in 2021, the department said.
Sales were up 4.3 percent in August from a year earlier, but still far below the record-breaking sales of $4.65 billion in 2021.
New York is the most-watched state, with 1.4 million homes sold in August.
The state is expected to break its August sales record, with a total of 3.2 million homes.
Sales of homes in New York rose 2.5 percent, the second consecutive month of increases.
