Alabama GOP House Member Says He’ll Vote for Clinton over Trump

A Republican House member in Alabama has said he will vote for Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump if he can get a copy of the Bible.

Alabama Republican Representative Jason Carter said Tuesday he would vote for Clinton if he could get a Trump Bible in the mail.

Carter, who is from the conservative Southern Baptist Convention, said he was surprised that the Bible did not come with the Bible in a box that was included with the Trump Bible.

“We have got to make sure that if we vote for a candidate, we vote on principle, not on politics,” Carter said.

“If I’m voting for Hillary, I’m not going to vote for Trump.

He is not Christian.

I don’t believe in Christian political correctness.”

Carter said that if he had a copy, he would “look at it and make a judgment based on the text.”

Carter also said he did not want to vote to “suffer the consequences of an administration that is hostile to Christianity and the Bible.”

The Southern Baptist convention, the largest Protestant denomination in the United States, has historically supported Trump.

“I do not support Donald Trump for president because he is not my candidate,” Carter told reporters at his office in Birmingham.

A spokesperson for the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to Breitbart News’ request for comment.
